2024 Trends To Get Inspired By
Get ideas for 2024 projects.
Put a finger down if you are already working on your 2024 goals…
I sure am.
Data is everything, and trends are no more than numbers in real life. So, if you want to have some cool ideas for your freelancing career, business, content creation, or even corporate job meetings next year, here are the most important statistics.
Quick-fire takeaways
People want to
Make things pretty
Connect with people about fandoms
Have fun
Be more sustainable
in 2024.
1. Fintech, but make it aesthetic
Pinterest predicts that credit cards will have a makeover as they registered 140% growth in searches for credit card stickers.

This is big as over 80% of Pinterest users go to Pinterest with the aim of purchasing something.
Pinterest calls itself a visual search engine for a reason. Their users not only use the site for finding inspiration but also for purchasing items in their aesthetic. This is why you can find product links for most posts on the site.
So, if you have a fintech idea about how to make it more pleasing to the eyes… This is the year to act on it.
2. Color(s) of the Year
Pantone recently debuted the color of the year for 2024: Peach Fuzz.

Although we can see a shift in makeup preferences and buyers gravitating towards peach blushed instead of pink, Pinterest data shows that millennial and Gen Z consumers are searching for blue makeup more and more.
How do you use this information in your work?

If you are a graphic designer or developer, try to lean into eye-catching blues and warm peaches in 2024. People will see these colors time and time again in shops and online, so using them strategy can help build trust in your brand. It will feel like a big, familiar hug.
Of course, don’t build a whole brand identity on trends, but using them smartly can be truly beneficial.
3. Fandoms Are A Driving Force
According to Instagram, 75% of Gen Z is part of a fandom.
The majority of Gen Zs report that they have sent a DM to a celebrity on Instagram, expressing that sending that DM is the best way for them to show their support and appreciation.
At the same time, character.ai and Meta made it simple to “interact” with your favorite celebrity.

I recently started to research the AI girlfriend topic and spent over $35 on a game called MeChat. It’s the weirdest dating simulator, as you can also get AI-generated voice messages.
If I were not moving across the world while working full-time, I would fully lean into learning how to build AI companions for people.
In the middle of the loneliness epidemic, making AI best friends and voice messaging options could be a big win.
Although morality is in the grey area in my eyes. It can be a nice, fun thing for some people, but mental drugs for others. More on that in my upcoming series about The History and Future of AI Girlfriends.
4. Hedonism is In, Retirement Fund is Out
Post-pandemic fatigue is not going anywhere, according to an Experian poll.
Millennials and the Gen Z demographics still like to spend more money on experiences like concerts, cocktail bars, and travel rather than on retirement and displays of wealth.
In-home art classes with supplies arriving at your door were a big hit during the pandemic.
Fans are creating hundreds of bracelets to trade with each other during concerts to commemorate the occasion.
People are seeking their own main character moment in real life and online. ( The tube girl trend is the biggest indicator. )
The DoubleTree Hotel chain has given out freshly baked cookies for every check-in for the last 25 years. Just imagine arriving at your hotel after a long flight and being surprised by snacks as a welcome gift at the reception. That’s a lifelong memory and a five-star review right there.
From an entrepreneur perspective, I see a lot of opportunities in experience-based trades.
5. It’s Me Time, Baby!
People were shifting into a more well-being and wellness mindset during the pandemic, and now they are truly fed up with the world.
Everything seems to go south recently, so consumers want those little me-time moments in their lives. In a survey of more than 24,000 people across 31 countries, Ipsos found that 78% of respondents said their mental health is equally as important as their physical health.
What now?
I threw a lot of ideas and statistics at you without much detail, my friend. And for a good reason.
Good ideas come when you get impulses and not when somebody tells you what to do. So think about these trends and build something cool with them in mind.
I’ll do it for sure.
Cheers,
Fanni Sophia
